Order Only - Private message to Juniors

These last few days I've been trying to think of way to get Desai and my mother focused on something of greater concern than my failings as a council-witch and legilimens.
Because it doesn't look good that both Harry and Draco turned out to be traitors and I knew nothing of it. And then there's the question of Daphne's and Aunt Narcissa's loyalties, and the fact that I more or less ended Neville's interrogation before it could get as far as Mummy wanted.
And Desai wants me to tell her about all the traitors in the school, because she knows there must be some. How could there not be? Even Finnigan was able to find one. I should be able to find dozens.
I thought about turning in someone who really was a traitor, but not in the Order. Like Warrington, or Archer. But - it wouldn't be right.
So I turned in Dolohov.
I told Desai that he more or less warned Professor Sinistra and Evelyn so that they could escape MLE, and that he also knew Draco was alive.
Desai's already told my mother, and she says he won't be arrested or anything. Not yet, anyway. Because as Desai said, "things rarely move swiftly when the suspect has power and allies. And even less so when the Aurors have other pressing tasks."
I also told Crouch what I'd done, and he'll be sure to tell Dolohov.
I don't know what the outcome of this could be, and I realise it could, in some way, backfire. But I don't think that Crouch will let the Headmaster be taken to interrogation, and I doubt that Dolohov himself would go quietly.
I suppose the best case scenario, which is too much to hope for, is that they all kill each other. But I've seen how paranoia and suspicion can make the council weaker in all sorts of unexpected ways. There may be payoff that I haven't yet thought of.
I know Dolohov's protected some of us. We'll see, now, if he can actually protect himself.

2015-05-13 03:29 (UTC)Do you think I should--I mean, Draco's posting now, and Harry, and they've both said they're with the Order on the Galleon. And Cedric and Evelyn.
I think Mr Snape and Draco think I should write something. The way Sirius and Tonks have done, you know.
Do you think that would be a good idea?

2015-05-13 03:36 (UTC)Draco and Harry get a kick out of it. It probably makes them feel empowered to correct everyone's assumptions about them.
What would you get out of it?
Re: Private Message to Hydra
2015-05-13 04:35 (UTC)And Draco says all the right things about it--you know, that I shouldn't feel pressured and that I don't have to do anything I don't want to do--but of course sometimes I catch him or Harry looking out the corner of their eye like 'You must have something to say!'
Only, I don't even know where I'd start. I mean, the Galleon holders, apart from you lot, don't even know I'm part of them.

2015-05-13 02:00 (UTC)I think the others he knew about were Harry and Draco, so that's all right, at least. (I can't remember. I mean, you legilimised him and I definitely remember that he knew I was there, later when he thought about it, but I can't remember who else he recognised. But I don't think he ever even saw Pansy or Ron and he probably still hasn't worked out he saw Hermione.)
I mean if they do interrogate him they'll probably be more concerned about things that happened more recently, too. So.

2015-05-13 02:13 (UTC)I also thought if Desai started looking more closely into Antonin she might stop poking around the students quite so much. Though she is an Auror, so I'm sure she can do both at the same time just fine, but this will slow her down.
She made it sound like she was far too busy for me to come to her office. I'm sure the truth is that she doesn't want me to legilimise her.

2015-05-13 03:10 (UTC)It doesn't even matter whether or not he's still loyal--he'll naturally try to defend his actions (if it comes to that) by saying it was his responsibility to protect his students, but that doesn't apply to Professor Sinistra. We'll see if his explanations are met with acceptance or further scrutiny.
I suppose I had best be prepared for inquiries.

2015-05-13 03:09 (UTC)I was there, too, and I know he recognised me.

2015-05-13 03:45 (UTC)I don't know how I could have forgotten it was me. Maybe using legilimency weakens your memory somehow?
