Did you see that Barney Bole's dead?

I found the article at lunch and it says he was murdered. They think either robbed or killed by some rival quidditcher.

I wonder if Daphne asked Crouch to take care of him, though. Or rather, maybe she didn't but Crouch did it to please her.

On the council, something like that is the equivalent to tonnes of flowers.

I'm sure you're right that it was Crouch.

I don't think Daphne would have asked outright. But she wouldn't have had to. And, she'd have known she wouldn't have to.

I know Bole wasn't one of the Order's enemies, really, but he was still rubbish. And we don't really know everything that he did to Daphne. It might've been worse than what we know.

Yeah. He was a horrible person and no loss to anyone.

I remember feeling so utterly helpless when I realised what was going on. And -- baffled, honestly, a bit, because Daphne is a pureblood, she wasn't trapped -- shouldn't have been trapped. But, she was, of course, or at least she didn't see any way out.

It wound up being so simple, in the end. Slughorn twisted Bole's arm and there might have been a little more to it but mostly -- he stayed away from her after that.

Crouch is being nice to her, I guess, so far. But if that changes there won't be anyone I can go to. Or she can go to. No one.

It's strange what people will endure and put up with.

Raz got involved, too, and said that he would ruin Bole's aspiring quidditch career. And he rather did, at that.

But the whole thing kind of makes me wonder who else Daphne could charm Crouch into killing...

Yeah, okay. Me too. Not your mother, unfortunately, or Voldemort. But maybe Mulciber? I don't think they exactly get on.

Bole was a nobody and Mulciber is important.

Oh, maybe Glozeman? Or Lana S-P?

And definitely Padma or Seamus. But, I don't suppose they deserve to die, exactly. Even though I wouldn't mind seeing Seamus dead, because of what happened with Neville. And what I had to do.

Well, the Order might wring their hands a bit. Which is its own sort of punishment.

Anyway. I wouldn't begrudge you either way, killing him or seeing if you could get him killed. And I can't even say he's less of a threat to the Order than others, after what happened with Neville.

Glozeman would be a good one. S-P, although would it bother you to have that happen while she's pregnant with your half-sibling? It might send your father after Crouch, which -- I don't know how you feel about that. Desai. Though she's been Ron's mentor with the Auror programme and he'll have a harder time of it if she's dead. Might still be worth it.

He is a threat, because he's desperate for approval and validation and he believes that fingering traitors is a way to get those things.

Right, I'd forgotten about Lana's baby. How far along must she be? Farther than I was, I suppose.

I'm not sure I feel alright about that. The baby hasn't done anything wrong. It's an innocent. Though if Lana raises it, it won't stay that way for long.

But even saying that, my mother raised me.

There are a lot of decent people with absolutely terrible parents, and at least a few terrible people with perfectly decent parents.

Anyway, you told us about Lana in February, I think. So...three months along, at least.
