Bad news, I'm afraid. Crouch wants me to put the first Hogsmeade Saturday aside for training. As soon as he beckoned me over last night and indicated I was to sit with him, I had an inkling what I was in for. Also, I saw him thinking about how I was going to forget everything he taught me if I didn't get a refresher, and soon.

Did you enjoy the lecture? I knew Daddy would be part of the lecture series, but I didn't realise he'd be the first invited.

Astoria Greengrass was very disappointed that she didn't manage to secure a seat closer to you, by the way. And she found the back of your neck far more fascinating than Daddy's dark artefacts.

No, I don't normally dig around in Daphne's sister's thoughts, but in this case she was rather loudly projecting your name, so I couldn't help but investigate.

I saw Draco in the prefect's car this morning, but he was busy with Daphne so we couldn't speak. Not that we could have really talked about what happened while riding the train, anyway, but I have no idea what's happened and I'm sure others are confused, as well. I only saw him say that he's quitting, and all his reasons why, and then there were a load of private messages between people.

It was thoughtless of Ron and the others not to tell anyone what they were doing, or what their challenge was to begin with. I didn't even know what Ron and Pansy's challenges were, I only knew that Draco and I hadn't received any. I told that to somebody when we were at Tea appreciation, only I don't remember who.

I can see why Draco was cross, but I was surprised that he decided to quit. He isn't quitting, is he?

I've just realised that even though some of the third year girls are going to the ball, none of the third year boys are. Because even though there might be a few older girls, like Daphne Greengrass, who are planning to ask boys, they're probably not going to be interested in the company of someone who is younger.

I wonder why it's acceptable for older boys to keep the company of younger girls, and not the other way around? It must change quite a lot once you're an adult, though. My Nanella's boyfriend Pascoal is much younger than her, but that seems to be one of the things she likes best about him.

Do people remember the quiz that went around last year, about the students who were in year 3 back then? It had categories like "Most Fit" and "Mousiest" and "Most Heroic" and "Least Fanciable."

I've heard some talk that there's going to be another quiz again, and this time it will be even more detailed, and include more years than just year 3.

Maybe it's just a rumour, but if it's not I thought people might want to know, so that they're not caught off guard.

I feel a bit funny this morning.
My tongue is a little sore, I think on account of all the sweets Remy and I have been eating.
(Remy is Jeremy, but he says he wants to be called Remy now so people don't confuse him with the other Jeremy who's older.)
First there was Friday night and we ate all the cakes and tarts leftover from the party Daphne Greengrass threw for Blaise Zabini.
She ordered too much refreshment, so she said we could do with them what we liked.
And then last night Warrington had a package of all-colour lollies and just wanted to see if I could turn my mouth all colours of the rainbow and everyone else wanted to see if it was possible, too.
One of the teeth on the top right side of my mouth hurts, lately, so I had better learn to start chewing on the other side.
Ever since he played it at Blaise's party Remy's been trying to teach me portkey.
It's different from a lot of other games, isn't it?
Because you have to hide all of your emotions so that people can't tell what's on your cards.
Or, Remy says someone with enough practice you can learn how to bluff, making people believe you have a good hand when you really don't.
So if you think about it, that that makes it one of the only games where you can actually win even though you are losing.
Well, Remy says it's the perfect game for Slytherins and I can see why.
