I hope you had a wonderful time last night. You looked like you were floating on air. And Pansy looked beautiful, too.
I didn't really understand your friend Weasley's robes. His sister sent them, didn't she? Is that a new style that hasn't really come out yet?
But, other things... I don't know if you noticed, but Justin had a black eye at breakfast, and his lip was cut, too. When I asked him after he just said it was a good thing he was fast, and that not to worry because the other chap took a few blows, too. And then he asked me if I liked the roses he sent.
It had to have been Henri Toubon, and maybe Coty, too. Probably after he left me at Slytherin last night. I don't know if my hexing Coty made Toubon worse than usual, but either way I suppose that Justin had enough and fought back this time.
I don't know, I'm not sure what to do. Maybe now they've had a proper two-sided fight it'll all simmer down, but I'm worried it won't.

2011-12-23 16:00 (UTC)Ron's robes: ah. Well, his sister had robes made for him because the robes from his mum was very old and out of style. One of his dorm mates, probably Seamus Finnigan, hexed the robes from his sister and Ron didn't find out until it was nearly time to go to the Ball. So he wore the old robes. He and Mandy seemed to have a good time anyway, though.
I didn't see Justin at breakfast
I was reading thebut that's concerning. Maybe you can suggest he not go anywhere by himself for a few days? Maybe he could take JP with him most places? Toubon and Coty are pretty big, but maybe you and I and a few other people could get together and teach them a lesson if that's what's needed?no subject
2011-12-23 16:27 (UTC)Not going anywhere alone is a good idea. I'm not sure about a gang of us teaching them a lesson, though, not yet anyway. Because maybe now that Justin's fought back they'll leave him alone?

2011-12-23 16:44 (UTC)Also, do the professors at Beauxbatons just ignore this sort of thing instead of giving detentions or taking House points? I keep thinking about Hogwarts in comparison because there are plenty of people who don't get on but mostly they play mean tricks (like sabotaging robes) or do little things that don't leave a lot of evidence (like pinching hexes). And it's not on, for two NEWT students to go after a fourth year.
Finnigan hexed Ron's robes because Ron hexed him at the YPL meeting where we were learning mediwizardry. And Ron did that because when the robes came from Ron's mum, Finnigan teased him and made the robes rise up and dance around the Gryffindor table. They've never liked each other but things seem to be particularly bad right now.

2011-12-23 16:59 (UTC)I think the Beauxbatons professors think some students just need to learn to endure, or cope, or solve their own problems. Which doesn't really make sense when the situation's so mis-matched, but I suppose it might be a cultural thing.
And if you ask me robes are a daft thing to row over.

2011-12-23 17:08 (UTC)To a certain extent the professors here let everyone get on with it, you know, we're not really expected to run to them for every little thing but when it's so mismatched they would put a stop to it, surely, if it were Hogwarts students.
And yes, robes are a daft thing to row over, but they weren't really rowing over robes, you know, they were rowing over the fact that Ron's family has almost no money, and Finnigan's foster-father has loads, but Finnigan doesn't get to live with his parents on holidays (or even have contact with them) and Ron sees his parents all the time. Finnigan wants to believe that being rich makes up for not being a pureblood and so he's cruel to Ron about Ron not having any money.
Do you think you can persuade Justin to stay near JP? Do you think it would help? Unfortunately I don't know how much of a match Justin and JP together are if Toubon and Coty came after them together.
Those roses Justin sent you were really lovely, by the way, I noticed them when they came at breakfast.

2011-12-23 17:29 (UTC)Did you see the roses were silver? I knew they could grow them that way, but I've never seen any up-close before. They're just perfect.
Sally Anne, would you rather be pureblooded and poor, or half-blooded and rich? If those were the only choices.
You don't have to answer if you don't want to.

2011-12-23 17:56 (UTC)I did see the roses were silver. Do they have a scent? I couldn't tell from where I was sitting.
I'd rather be pureblood and poor, because I'd get to go home to my parents on holidays. Instead of the Strettons. Although if I could be a half-blood like Susan Bones that would be different. She's technically a half-blood but really she's only a quarter, and she's not in fostering.

2011-12-23 18:04 (UTC)They smell like other kinds of roses, from what I can tell. What's surprising is that they're soft, like other roses, too.
Oh, I see then.
You must love your parents a lI'm sorry to ask something so personal, only I'm trying to see all sides of things lately, on important issues and such. From,
